THE SMALL PRINT, WITHOUT THE SMALL TALK
New to Discord, or just new here? These are the questions people actually ask — how to join a Discord server, how to leave one, how bots and rules work — answered without the jargon.
A Discord server is a free community space on Discord where people gather around shared interests using text and voice channels. Javalatté cafe is one such server — a small, cozy community for games, art, coding and everyday conversation.
Click any “Join the café” button on this page to open our Discord invite link. Accept the invite, create a free Discord account if you do not have one, agree to the server rules, and say hello in the café-chat channel.
On desktop, right-click the server icon in your Discord sidebar and choose “Leave Server”. On mobile, tap the server name at the top of the channel list, open the options menu, and select “Leave Server”. You can rejoin anytime with an invite link.
Only the server owner can delete a Discord server. Open Server Settings, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, choose “Delete Server”, enter the server name to confirm, and approve the two-factor prompt if enabled. Deletion is permanent, so consider transferring ownership instead.
You need the “Manage Server” permission. Find a bot on a listing site or its official page, click its invite or “Add to Server” link, choose your server from the dropdown, review the requested permissions, and authorize. Javalatté cafe already runs helpful and entertaining bots, including custom ones.
Every Discord server sets its own rules, usually shown in a rules or welcome channel. At Javalatté cafe the spirit is simple: come curious, keep it kind, respect every member, and follow Discord’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Use a Discord server finder or server list directory such as Discords.com or Discord.me, browse categories that match your interests, and read the server description and rules before joining. You can also join communities like Javalatté cafe directly through an invite link.
Self-assignable roles, fun emotes, helpful and entertaining bots — including custom bots — and channels for games, art, coding, school and university life. A small group of regulars keeps the conversation warm rather than overwhelming.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY.
There’s a whole little world in here.
And a place for you in it.
Small community. Big “one more message” energy.
